WCK and EPFH are working together to provide a special meal to the recipients of the food bank’s home delivery program. EPFH’s Home Delivery recipients received a meal prepared by local El Paso restaurants and provided by WCK. The food bank recognizes the importance of prepared meals for their clients and are grateful for this opportunity to partner with such a great organization.
WCK uses the power of food to nourish communities and strengthen economies in times of crisis and beyond. World Central Kitchen is a team of food first responders, mobilizing with the urgency of now to get meals to those who need them most. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they have activated thousands of restaurants and kitchens to feed marginalized and vulnerable communities along with medical professionals on the front lines.
“"We know that sharing a meal with someone means so much more than calories, it shows them you care. We are honored to be able to support families in El Paso.” Tim Kilcoyne, WCK's Director of Chef Operations.
“El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank is thankful to have the opportunity to partner with World Central Kitchen. They live by the motto a nourishing meal means hope and dignity. We share that sentiment and are pleased they have reached out to our community. We still have people in line who are working to overcome food insecurity. The financial impact of the pandemic is still being felt by many families. We remain extremely grateful to those who support El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank as we help our neighbors in need.” Kathy Cox, Chief Development Officer, El Pasoans Fighting Hunger.
