Thunder Rosa spent time greeting volunteers on site, shaking hands, taking photos and sharing words of appreciation for the heart they bring to the mission every day. She also stepped in to assist briefly with food distribution, working side by side with volunteers to help serve neighbors facing food insecurity.
Her visit comes at a critical time for the food bank. As the only food bank serving El Paso, Hudspeth and Culberson counties, El Pasoans Fighting Hunger continues to respond to growing need across the region.
"We are so grateful for companies like AEW who come to our community willing to help and serve," said El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Chief Development Officer Candice MacBlain. "We rely on kind hearts to provide for our community. Every dollar becomes relief in a time of uncertainty. These lines are not made of strangers. They are our neighbors, our friends and sometimes our own families. That is the hardest part about hunger. It is silent and can happen with just one unexpected life event."

Thunder Rosa’s visit also helped spotlight the food bank’s new Hunger Warriors monthly giving program, an initiative designed to rally consistent community support in response to the ongoing hunger crisis. Through monthly gifts, Hunger Warriors help ensure a steady supply of nutritious food for neighbors who rely on the food bank.
Hunger does not discriminate. It impacts working families, seniors on fixed incomes, veterans and children. It affects neighbors across every ZIP code in the region. But so does hope.
It takes a community to nourish a community.
