Noche de Estrellas Shines Bright!

The second annual Noche de Estrellas, hosted by El Pasoans Fighting Hunger, was an overwhelming success, leaving everyone who attended with lasting memories of unity, joy, and giving back. Held at the iconic Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park on September 19, 2024, the evening perfectly blended glamour with a heartfelt sense of service, staying true to its mission of placing the community at the heart of the celebration.

The night began with a VIP reception, where sponsors and community leaders mingled in anticipation of their unique role for the evening — serving as waitstaff for the very people they are helping through their generous donations. The transition from VIP guest to dinner host was a powerful and symbolic gesture, with sponsors donning aprons and personally attending to the needs of the community members invited to enjoy a five-star dining experience.

This year’s event was inspired by a similar initiative from a food bank in Sydney, Australia, and has quickly become one of El Paso’s most anticipated fundraisers. The spirit of Noche de Estrellas is rooted in its ability to break down barriers, where sponsors and supporters work hand-in-hand to serve those in need, creating an atmosphere of equality, unity, and compassion.

“It was incredible to see our sponsors, many of whom are leaders in the community, serve our neighbors with such grace and humility,” said Susan Goodell, CEO of El Pasoans Fighting Hunger. “This event reminds us all that no matter where we come from, we are united in our desire to create a brighter future, free from hunger.”

Community guests were treated to a gourmet dinner in an elegant setting, a rare and cherished opportunity for many of them. The delighted smiles and expressions of gratitude spoke volumes, as guests enjoyed an experience they would not soon forget.

One attendee, a single mother of two, expressed her gratitude for the evening, saying, “I never imagined I’d be treated to a night like this. Everyone was so kind, and the food was amazing. It makes me feel like the community really cares about us.”

It was clear that Noche de Estrellas had once again made a significant impact — not just in raising funds for El Pasoans Fighting Hunger but in fostering a spirit of unity and empathy across the city.
