MLK Day of Service - Join Us to Fight Hunger

This Martin Luther King Jr. Day, El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank is hosting a special Day of Service on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Sponsored by FirstLight Federal Credit Union, the event invites community members to honor Dr. King’s legacy through service and collective action.
For one day only, the food bank will open on a Monday to welcome volunteers who want to make a meaningful difference. With more than one-third of El Pasoans experiencing food insecurity, your participation helps ensure that no family in our region goes without food.
About the Event
This year’s MLK Day of Service coincides with El Pasoans Fighting Hunger’s 10th anniversary as an independent food bank. The event is an opportunity to reflect on a decade of impact while continuing to serve our neighbors with dignity and compassion.
Volunteers will help sort, pack, and prepare food for distribution across El Paso, Hudspeth, and Culberson counties. Attendees will also enjoy light refreshments and hear brief remarks from EPFH leadership and FirstLight Federal Credit Union. A guided tour of the food bank facility will be available for those interested in learning more about our operations.
