Partnership in Action: America250 Food Donation Brings Truckload of Hope to El Paso
A spirit of unity and generosity filled the air Friday morning at El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank, as community members gathered to welcome a truckload of food donated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The delivery was part of the nationwide America250 initiative, celebrating 250 years of the United States through acts of service.
El Paso was selected as one of just 250 communities across the country to receive a food donation truck, and the impact is already being felt. The donation will provide meals for families facing hunger across El Paso, Hudspeth, and Culberson counties.
The event featured moving musical performances of America the Beautiful and My Country, ‘Tis of Thee, sung by missionaries with joyful audience participation. Faith leaders from across the region offered powerful opening and closing prayers, uniting the crowd in shared purpose.
Kris Yagel, Interim CEO of El Pasoans Fighting Hunger, welcomed guests and expressed deep appreciation for the gift:
Today’s event was more than a delivery, it was a celebration of shared purpose. Of neighbors helping neighbors. Of faith, community, and hope coming together.
