Social Services/Project Outreach Coordinator

FLSA: NON-EXEMPT (Salary)

Accountable To: Social Services Site-Manager

Job Summary
Responsible for connecting EPFHFB organization with the surrounding communities, including El Paso, Hudspeth, and Culberson counties. Assist with state programs such as SNAP, Medicaid, TANF, Medicare Savings Program, and CHIP. Support administrative duties as required by Social Services Department. The EPFH Social Services Project Outreach Coordinator supports the Director of Programs and Social Services site Manager.

Duties: Brainstorm and engage potential partnerships within our local community. Work closely with community partners to include outreach events and training. In addition, the EPFH Social Services Coordinator supports the Director of Programs and Social Services Site Manager.

This position will:

  • Provide comprehensive, multi-lingual, client-centered applications assistance to individuals seeking help who are likely eligible for state programs
  • Meet all contractual requirements and deliverables per the State Plan
  • Brainstorm potential partnerships and methods and engagement with the local community
  • Work closely with community partners to include outreach events for the SNAP program,
  • Work closely with Training Coordinator and implement/operate partners to the EPFHFB SNAP program and partner network wide-imitative
  • Coordinate participation and steering committee engagement with various network groups.
  • The position requires creating and maintaining relationships throughout the network of members and leaders.
  • Plan and execute regular day-to-day activities and communicate related projects with the Social Services Site Manager and Director of Programs.
  • Track, report progress, and identify opportunities and barriers within the project goal.
  • Create and maintain a process for scheduling individual or group meetings, project meetings, group collaborations, and other events.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Knowledge or Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working with community partners in El Paso, Hudspeth, and Culberson counties
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required with clients, staff, members, and community partners from diverse communities and economic backgrounds.
  • Detail-oriented, flexible, and able to manage ever-changing priorities are required.
  • Public speaking and presentation skills are required
  • Experience with an outreach program is required
  • Administrative knowledge of at least two years is required.
  • Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office and Excel, Excel is required.
  • Knowledge of the SNAP and State Programs, including Medicaid, CHIP, TANF, and Healthy Women’s, is required.
  • Fluency in Spanish/English
  • The ability to work collaboratively while taking the initiative and flexibility through a team process with others is preferred.
  • Experience with non-profits for at least one year is preferred.
  • Experience working with program committees is preferred.
  • Willingness to learn new skills as needed is preferred.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organization, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects with attention to detail and accuracy while adhering to deadlines with high energy and little or no supervision
  • A solid ethical character capable of exercising good judgment and discretion and handling confidential information

Qualifications

  • Ability to pass a background check administered by HHSC
  • Flexible hours including weekends
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree (experience can be substituted)
  • Must meet the driving requirement

Compensation- 45,000 plus mileage
Contract-1 year
