(September 1, 2018) El Paso, TX- This September, El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank, together with the Feeding America nationwide network of 200 food banks, will mobilize across all 50 states in an effort to bring an end to hunger. Hunger Action Month is designed to inspire people to take action and raise awareness of the fact that 41 million Americans, including nearly 13 million children, are food insecure, according to the USDA. In El Paso, we serve 91,000 food insecure children, families, elderly, veterans, students and individuals--hunger does not discriminate.
This month, the ABC-7 & Albertsons food drive brings awareness to Childhood Hunger in our very own communities. Stop by your neighborhood Albertsons and donate any amount at checkout or simply donate a $5 hunger bag (includes tuna, pasta, canned vegetables etc). Every $1 donated, provides up to 7 meals.
Other Hunger Action Month Activities:
Remember that when you donate at Albertsons, wear orange to bring awareness, volunteer at the Food Bank or use the #HungerActionMonth on your social media to start a discussion, YOU are helping to make sure that No Child Should Go Hungry!
