Food FARMacy Clerk

Full-Time: 40 hours per week

Location: 9541 Plaza Circle, El Paso, TX 79927

Reports to: Director of Programs

Position Summary:

With guidance and support from the Director of Programs and Warehouse Manager, the employee performs duties related to distributing food through the Food FARMacy program. They will train and interact with volunteers, assist customers, as well other distribution center duties related to processing client grocery orders.

Major Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Process client grocery items
• Assist clients while shopping through client-choice pantry
• Assist with Intake Process using the client database
• Follow the first in/first out Priority System
• Clean and sanitize the work area daily
• Maintain proper records/reports
• Train and supervise volunteers in a friendly and professional manner
• Perform other duties as requested or assigned

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills and Abilities:

• Operate manual or electric pallet jack
• Lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly
• Stand for long periods of time
• Work evenings or weekends
• Strong organizational skills, including the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and projects and consistently meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
• Strong Customer Service skills
• Computer skills to enter client orders
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Be flexible and quickly adapt to changing priorities
• Work effectively under periodically stressful conditions
• Good problem-solving skills
• Work well independently, as well as a member of teams
• Positive and professional attitude and demeanor
• Ability to pass a background check
• Ability to pass random drug testing
