Food FARMacy Assistant Manager
Full-Time: 40 hours per week

Reports to: Director of Programs
Position Summary:
The Food FARMacy at El Pasoans Fighting Hunger is a new initiative to address the prevalence of diet-related chronic diseases in our community. Through partnerships with health care providers, individuals who are both food insecure and have been diagnosed with a diet-related chronic disease will be referred to the Food FARMacy program by their medical provider. The program will include access to food distribution through the FARMacy, along with nutrition education and “in the aisle” nutrition guidance to support healthy food choices that align with their prescribed diets. This new position will oversee day-to-day operations at El Pasoans Fighting Hunger’s Food FARMacy, which requires frequent contact with volunteers, community partners, and clients. This position will ensure Food FARMacy is stocked with a variety of nutritious food and is clean throughout the day.

This position operates in a warehouse environment and requires walking, pushing, and lifting (up to 50
pounds), and operating a pallet jack. Additionally, this position requires the use of a computer and other office equipment, such as phones, calculators, computer printers, and copy machines.
The person in this position frequently communicates with internal and external stakeholders (clients, food bank leadership and staff, volunteers, and partners). Must be able to gather and exchange accurate information in these situations. Occasional night or weekend work may be required.
Position Type & Hours of Work
This is a full-time, exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). It is not eligible for overtime pay. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This position may require occasional evening and weekend responsibilities.
Salary Range & Benefits
The salary range for this position depends on experience. Benefits include: paid time off, health/dental/life insurance, 401(k) retirement savings plan, etc.
